Want to feel like a princess for your special day?
posted in Bridal hair trends , Wedding hair planning by Bridal Hair By Lindsay
Arguably, your wedding is the one occasion when you really want to look and feel your best – even feel like a princess for the day. Problem is: where to start.
Of course with so much choice these days, it can be easy to get yourself into a flat spin regarding what ‘look’ you want to achieve. Flicking through bridal magazines or catwalk shows can sometimes leave you feeling even more confused…
2018 bridal hair trends
Should you opt for the latest trend, or something more traditional? Interestingly, as we approach autumn, spring 2018 bridal hair trends are already out. Here are just some of the on-trend styles that might inspire you:
- Polished but simple look: With hair scooped back in a pony tail or plait, the emphasis is all on the accessories
- Fairytale braids: One of the trends is to have braids framing your face in a feminine, yet delicate half updo
- Floral still in: Whether you opt for a floral crown, a single flower to accentuate a bun or tiny flowers wound into a plait or soft chignon, flowers are still going to be popular in 2018
- Bo-ho is here to stay: The dreamy bo-ho theme continues with crimped styling for a head-turning look
Has that helped? Think of it this way: aim for a style that suits your personality, dress and hair type. Ultimately, if your hair looks good you feel good!

Wedding hairstyle worries? Keep it simple
posted in Wedding hair planning by Bridal Hair By Lindsay
Let’s face it: you’ve enough wedding plan worries on your plate as it is. The last thing you want to do is worry about your hair. And yet most brides-to-be put it near the top of their wedding worry list as it’s something that makes such an impact on the day.
If your hair looks and feels great, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day without feeling embarrassed that your hair’s not right. And if you’ve a photographer booked, a hairdo you’re happy with will give you confidence when smiling into the camera too.
So, where do you start? Well my advice – as expert wedding hair stylist across the Staffordshire area and beyond – is to keep it simple. Go for a style that fits with you, your personality, and hair type. No wonder this year’s wedding hair trends are all about keeping it natural…
Be a boho bride
Go boho. Rather than tie up your hair into a bun, you could opt for free-flowing soft waves topped with a floral, pearl or crystal crown. A touch of glamour mixed with down-to-earth simplicity…
Bridal braids
Another option is a sleek up-do with an elegant braid. A simple do with a braid can look effortlessly stylish, especially when you team it up with a pretty tiara or perhaps sparkly hair vine entwined along the braid. Gorgeous!
Plus if you’ve a heavily embellished wedding dress, it makes sense to complement such detailing with understated simplicity.
Getting married in 2018 or beyond?
Are you planning to tie the knot in the next year or so? Why not tick the ‘wedding hair’ worry off the list early. Because I’m already being booked for next season, do get in touch this summer to book in a package.

Are you a blonde or brunette bride-to-be?
posted in Wedding hair planning , Winter wedding hair by Bridal Hair By Lindsay
Can hair colour really make THAT much of a difference to a bridal hairstyle? Incredibly, it can. Perhaps you’ve scoured Google looking for the perfect hairdo and picked a style hoping it would suit you – but then found it simply doesn’t work on you?
Whether you’re a fiery redhead, sassy blonde or beautiful brunette, it’s crucial to choose a ‘look’ which complements your hair colour, face and style. But as I often find in my career as a mobile wedding stylist, a dream look online doesn’t always match reality … at first.
Let me explain.. With blonde styles, specks of colour accentuate a specific hair design such as a plait. Whereas with darker hair, some of the stunning detail of the style can be lost as there isn’t enough light in the hair to draw attention to it.
Rather than feeling downhearted, the fab news is that ALL it takes to create your perfect wedding hairdo is a dollop of creativity combined with clever technique.
Gorgeous ideas for glorious wedding hair … whatever the colour
- If your hair is darker, it’s remarkable how some carefully placed diamanté pins and gorgeous gyp flowers can transform a dull updo into a wedding style that WOWs.
- Imagine a beautiful curl turned into a rose petal with the gleaming pin in its centre. Voila! A touch of ‘Lindsay’ magic…
- Search online for styles of your hair colour and type, so you start with a realistic picture from the off…
Thanks everyone.
